Sugar Grove officially changes hands from federal government to healthcare provider

WV MetroNews Network – The U.S. General Services has finalized the sale of the former U.S. Sugar Grove Naval Station property in Pendleton County on Tuesday evening, transferring the property to Sugar Grove, LLC.

The new owner plans to turn the facility into a healthcare campus.

Robert Pike, who submitted the highest bid of nearly $4 million in December, is working with the Mellivora Partners from Birmingham, Alabama, to re-purpose the property into a healthcare facility that will focus on the needs of both active duty military personnel and the residents of West Virginia, according to the GSA Acting Regional Public Affairs Officer Sherrie Taylor.
