Stephan A. Haloftis, 24, of Winchester Avenue, is charged with one felony count of threats of terrorist acts and one misdemeanor count of obscene, anonymous, harassing and threatening communications by computer, cell phones and electronic communication devices, according to Berkeley County Magistrate Court records.
Haloftis was being held in Eastern Regional Jail on Monday night on a $75,000 cash-only bond, according to jail and court records.
West Virginia State Police Sgt. J.J. Bowman said in a complaint filed against Haloftis that an off-duty Martinsburg Police Department officer reported the alleged threatening Facebook posts on Wednesday, records said.
Bowman said an investigation found that the messages included statements as to how Haloftis “was going to murder people, he wished to buy an AR-15, and he will be on the news next.”
..Police found a large sum of cash and a loaded Smith & Wesson M&P Shield .9mm handgun in the gym bag, records said.
